This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." - Nelson Mandela.
Every day, my kids walk into my classroom so full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
They come from various cultures and economic statuses. I have a variety of learners ranging from gifted, autistic, ADHD, and ESOL. My kids love to read and write. They just need the "write" tools. I want to give them the resources to read, write, draw, and to be as creative as they can be!
Martin Luther King, Jr. said it best, "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education."
My goal as an educator is to teach and provide the resources for my students to reach their given potential, in order for them to change the world.
My Project
As an arts integration learning community, our goal is to use the arts as a part of our core curriculum. We will use the Crayola Model Magic Clay and construction paper in order to create pyramid dioramas. Students are working on personal narratives and will use the pyramid dioramas as another way to tell their story.
The pyramid dioramas alongside arts integration will allow students to make sense of what they have learned and make their learning visible to demonstrate an understanding of concepts taught in reading and social studies.
Arts integration helps students build a positive classroom environment and encourages students to take risks, explore possibilities.
