Help me give my students the tools for innovative design with a 3D printer!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
In my K-8 STEAM classroom, I am working to connect students the wonders of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math all in one classroom. Many of my students come with diverse backgrounds and are learning to care about our planet. The students are starting to see how we are connected to both the natural environment and a larger community beyond our school.
I am passionate about project-based education and try to find meaningful ways to engage my students with hands-on learning opportunities both inside the classroom and in the outdoor environment.
By providing them with experiences beyond traditional learning, my students are more passionate about STEAM because it relates and connects to their lives.
In my classroom, the arrangement is set up a student centered classroom. My students work on problem-based projects and activities that encourage them to connect to the natural environment and science. These experiences and an environmental approach to the curriculum, allow the students to more fully develop their cooperative learning and critical thinking skills, as well as provides them with real-world application.
Through my STEAM classroom, students will learn innovation and design with 3D printing! This project includes adding a 3D printer to my STEAM classroom and all the material needed to get this amazing tool into students hands!
By supporting this project you will be supporting students who will be leaders in innovation and creation in the decades to come!
The potential for what students will be able to do with our program is limitless and will help spur on the next generation of scientist, artists, engineers, designers, teachers, inventors and so much more! Bringing a 3D printer into the classroom will put the tools for creativity and engineering right into the hands of students as younger as 5 years old!
