Our library is the center of learning in our school. Our students visit the library often for a variety of reasons, and we want to continue to serve them. Our school is a rural middle school with almost 650 students. Sixty percent of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Our students are AWESOME! They are unique, creative, and talented. They come from all walks of life. Our students have a love for learning and are anxious to read and discover new books and various forms of technology.
My Project
I am requesting high quality non-fiction books for the students at East McDowell Middle School. Our school has identified informational text or non-fiction reading as an area that are students struggle to be successful.
Due this identification, I would love to introduce my students to the best non-fiction books of 2019.
All the books that I am requesting are published in 2019 and all have been reviewed favorably.
Putting high quality books in the hands of students is by far the best way to begin to see them become comfortable with non-fiction texts. Students will love non-fiction books when given the opportunity to select a book that they would like to read and that interests them.
