I work at a Title I school where over 74% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunches. My students are creative, thoughtful and full of curiosity! They absolutely love hands-on, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to "think outside the box". They come to school each day eager to learn new things and bravely take chances to grow both personally and academically. I am amazed at their tenacity!
Every child in my classroom truly loves learning; however, the approach and setting in which they learn best greatly varies.
Our classroom incorporates a variety of learning methods and alternative, flexible seating choices to assure that each student's needs are being met. They are truly an incredible bunch and I am blessed to be working with each and every one of them.
My Project
Whiteboards are used almost daily in my classroom. They are perfect for guided practice and recording new strategies we are learning. They allow my students the ability to record, share, and discuss their thinking. Dry erase tables will be a perfect place for groups to join for collaboration and record all their creative ideas to share with their team members. Regular dry erase boards are far too small for larger projects, or ideas, and limit my students' creativity.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student engagement, but you will also ultimately be helping increase academic achievement.
With the ability to share their creative ideas with their peers on a larger scale, students can gain critical thinking skills. The ability to collaborate and work with others is a necessity in a 21st-century classroom.
