Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

This school is located in the Bay Area. These students come from various countries and ethnic backgrounds. They are hard working and dedicated life-long learners. They are middle school and are on the pathway to becoming wonderful adults.

These students are curious and are excited to find new ways to learn the curriculum.

They ask so many questions and sometimes find the answer. Other times they find more questions. Often they are guided by the process and not the product.

My Project

An iPad can assist children is the ability to capture, develop and publish their learning in the creative and engaging ways that they experience the world. They can take pictures, record their voices, create videos and slideshows, annotate diagrams, explain and record their learning in Screencast and/or multimedia books that others can read on their iPads.

We are going to split the class into groups when they work with these iPads and working well in a team setting is a great skill to have.

We are going to use these to connect students to the curriculum because the video is one of the main mediums they use to communicate.
