Ms. Kalthoff from Waite Park MN is requesting professional development through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
I need to attend a Computer Science Crash Course for Educators to gain a deeper understanding of how to integrate CS into our classrooms so that all students have access to learning opportunities.

I work as a Technology Integrationist for a district with eight elementary schools. On a daily basis, I am in classrooms co-teaching, leading lessons, coaching teachers, and creating lessons that integrate technology and computer science.
An average, there are 620 students in each elementary school with a little over half of the population on free or reduced lunch who need to have early exposure to CS.
Current data shows the trend in who enters the workforce for CS. I am working to make CS accessible to all students by creating early learning opportunities for all students.
As a technology integrationist, I work with both students and teachers. I have been integrating Computer Science (CS) into our k-5 classrooms using Code.org, Kodable, and robots. I am looking to gain a deeper understanding of CS to create additional activities for our students. I will share my learning within my school district, at conferences across the US, and on Twitter.
I will attend this training and learn from other educators in the field.
I will take my experiences and create meaningful learning for other educators in peer -to - peer learning opportunities. I will share what I have learned in in district professional development, out of district professional development and on Twitter through out the week long training.
By attending the Computer Science Crash Course for Educators at the Krauce Center for Innovation, I will be engaged in professional development on topics and tools that I have had the chance to briefly experience. This opportunity will enhance my learning, which in turn I will be able to share with others.
