Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Wide eyed and eager to learn, my students actively engage and creatively explore their community as they seek to understand the world around them. My students question, think critically and effectively create solutions to real world situations. They are encouraged to approach challenges with the notion that resilience and persistence are required as well as acquired traits.
Scientist, mathematicians, engineers, writers and more, waiting for the opportunity to interact and absorb all the knowledge I am able to direct their way.
The only question they begin their quest with is, "Can we get started now?"
My Project
I want to teach my students to become better thinkers, mathematicians and problem solvers. By having the Cubelets kit of 20 my students will get the chance to practice the thinking skills they will need in order to persevere and grow as learners.
There’s no wrong way to build with Cubelets, so it is remarkably easy to transform these blocks into brilliant bundles of robotic curiosity.
They can be combined to build thousands of thought-provoking robots accomplishing innumerable tasks. They’re proven to engage different types of learners and to foster confidence, imagination, and a love of learning that will help prepare children for an increasingly complex world.
I want my students to start thinking that they can do and be anything they want to be. Our STEM lab presents opportunities for exploration and discovery that will encourage my students to seek any career imaginable; engineers, mathematicians, doctors, scientists. They can become coders and programmers in this digital world we live in. All they need is a chance to see that these dreams can all begin in elementary school.
