Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are coming from low-income housing and attend our Title I school. My kindergarten students are entering kindergarten and have various disabilities. They are underprivileged scholars who need some basic supplies in order to begin this school year. Help me make their world a little brighter.
My Project
As we start the 2021-2022 school year, it is unprecedented. We want to kick off this school year on the right foot and with enough basic supplies for all of our scholars.
Due to COVID, we don’t want to ask our parents to buy any supplies for this upcoming school year.
Every family has a different situation and we want to lessen the burden of basic things like folders.
In order to keep everything organized we want all of our scholars to have the same color folder for their homework. These folders are durable and will last throughout the entire school year. Pencils are crucial in every and any classroom in order to be able to learn how to write their names, share their stories, and compute math problems.
Our scholars deserve the best of the best and I want their world to be colorful this year. The rainbow decorations go along with our theme but are sold out in local teacher stores. The markers are so that my charts can be enhanced with color. The laminating paper is so that their personalized Word Wall charts can be preserved throughout the year and edited. In order to show their work around our classroom, a new stapler is needed. Velcro is just as crucial as pencils as it enables us to make our classroom Word Wall interactive and our calendar come to life.
