Virtual Learning - Making the New Normal Even Better!
Help me give my students the best possible virtual experience. The professional document camera/scanner has special flattening technology, so print resources can be shared without distortion digitally with all 5th grade students.
This is 2020 and as we have all learned it is a year that has truly changed the landscape of modern education. The virtual 5th grade students I serve this year are a diverse group of learners with dynamic personalities and unique cultural experiences. Many of these children are newer English Language Learners and come from families who fall below the federal poverty line.
I look forward to the challenge of finding ways to meet each child's individual needs while building a strong sense of community so they do not feel isolated at home.
The learning management systems we employ will enable me to target gaps identified through assessment and observation. Additionally, the our demographics demonstrate a greater need for more intensive instructional strategies and materials to make the connections necessary to aid in their acquisition of key skills.
My Project
I aim to provide instruction that will mark a closing of gaps and increased growth for all learners. When all learning is digital the technology to deliver and receive it becomes pivotal in the process.
The document camera, drawing tablet, and light ring, will allow me to prepare, enhance, transform, and deliver the instruction to the students in a manner that will accelerate their acquisition of the necessary skills for growth.
This change to virtual learning is a big one, but the results can be amazing! It has always been a goal to individualize instruction and through this virtual platform it is becoming more of a reality.
