Help me give my students new inviting room. I have room where some decorations are ripping and its time to give my deserving students a beautiful new room.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are at risk of failing to meet the State's academic achievement standards. We are grant-funded based on the number of economically disadvantaged students.
My students come to me without some of their basic needs met as all of my children are 65% below the federal poverty line.
It is my job to fill in the developmental gaps and ensure kindergarten readiness. I serve at a Title I school.
I serve 20 children, all of whom receive free lunch. I have students with individual education plans and several kids with speech concerns.
My Project
My project would change my class from some tired, ripped decorations to a new, updated Woodland Friends theme. I was excited to see that this particular group of decorations had an alphabet and number line in the bundle. We use the alphabet and number line for reference all day in class during centers and circle time. I think the students will love the Woodland Friends characters.
Our curriculum has forest animals with stories so, it will go nicely to pair the environment with the curriculum.
The students will have stories to identify with characters in the room. I added the number friends from Lakeshore because I use the alphabet cards with my kids every day and it has really helped them achieve their literacy objectives. I thought I would add in the large number cards to the routine to add more number practice. I wanted to just get the items I thought I needed to make the room very inviting and fun for my little ones!
