I teach business and technology to some of the most creative, curious, and innovative students. My goal is to provide tech experiences to our students to promote 21st-century learning and skills with STREAM.
My students are very innovative and creative individuals.
Students in our district often have limited technology experience. My students will begin to discover and cultivate their creativity as they begin to apply their unique gifts and talents and allow them to become the innovators and global leaders of tomorrow with the stories they will be able to create and tell.
My Project
As a business and technology teacher, I am looking for new and innovative ways for my students to take their learning to the next level. My instructional team has created a series of instructional videos that allow students to work at their own pace and to remove "busy work" worksheets. However, our computers are not suitable for their various headphones and our earbuds that we have purchased do not last long. In fact they break easily or are unable to work after four or six classes. I have been paying for my students' headphones out of my own pocket so they can learn. Many of students have requested that we get more higher quality headphones, but we do not have access to them.
Having access to a set of headphones would allow all of my students to access videos that can enhance their learning.
Having dedicated headphones in my classroom would also give me the opportunity to incorporate more video lessons into my curriculum. I would like to have students start making their own videos and amplify their student voice with our newly created Flipgrid recording studio. These headphones would provide another avenue for my students to become more adept at technology and learn computer science and financial literacy along the way.
