Help me give my students materials to make hands-on connections to their learning. We need hands-on math manipulatives, sturdy paper to print center materials on, games to reinforce skills, and a microphone to present what we've learned!
This year, I have a group of 10 wonderful 3rd graders. They come to school each day full of energy and ready to learn! We have been so lucky to work together this year and have learned so much together already.
My students are so eager to learn, but we also need more creative manipulatives to help them make valuable connections to their learning!
They love to read, do STEM activities and science experiments, and are so excited to learn multiplication this year. Each one of them has earned a special place in my heart already and they teach me something new every single day!
My Project
In our class, we do most of our math learning in centers. This means that 2-3 students work alone with me while the others practice the skills we're learning on through hands-on manipulatives and games.
Learning is so much more meaningful when students can have hands-on experiences with the skills they're working on.
I can teach the same concept all day long, but until students have the chance to make discoveries for themselves, the concept won't truly stick for them.
I want to give my students the best available manipulatives to reinforce what I'm teaching them so they can make connections and go above and beyond!
