My Students

My students are Diverse Learners at a rigorous College Preparatory High School in the city of Chicago. In order to access the high level curriculum and keep themselves on track to graduate they need extra support within a resource setting for the first hour of the day.

My students have to work harder than most to obtain their goals and meet the high expectations of their teachers.

It is great to see them learn to manage themselves and gain more independence each day.

My Project

My 9-12 grade Diverse Learners are in a first period resource class to help them get prepared for their day, get help with confusing assignments and develop independent functioning skills. Chromebooks will be utilized to help students organize their weekly assignments, complete assignments related to current events and participate in online discussions with one another.

Help my students begin their day in a positive and focused environment.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and productivity, you will give them an opportunity to engage with what is going on in the world around them.

Chromebooks will not be used to detract from direct instruction or small group work, but instead will be used to enhance students' abilities to be independent with skills they have learned.
