My Students

My students come to my room for extra help and practice. They are learning support students. Some have learning disabilities, some are diagnosed with autism, while others have other health impairments. I like to think as my classroom as a place for these students to come have fun, but to also as a place to learn and grow academically.

Because my students struggle, I like to make my room a place that they can feel successful.

In my classroom, we focus on areas that students need extra practice in so that they can not only be successful in their current classes, but so that they can be successful in years to come.

My Project

Within my learning support classroom, student will receive remedial math instruction. The students within the class have specific learning disabilities in the area of math therefore making this a difficult subject for them to be successful at. The use of the calculators will benefit the students in that they can use them to complete their assignments, check over their work, and overall make them more successful in the area of math. These are also the same calculators used in our regular education classrooms, so that when students join their regular education peers they will already be familiar with and know how to use the calculators.
